Exploring and sharing the wonders of science
ABOUT
I became a researcher in 2008. Since then, my interests have focused on embryonic development. Understanding the mechanisms at work for a functional organism to be generated from the totipotent egg cell. How does the acquisition of a form and an identity enable a specific function? Since 2014, my work has focused on the development of the olfactory sensory organ using the transparency and genetics of the zebrafish embryo combined with multidisciplinary approaches using mathematical modeling (theoretical model), analytical methods quantitative image, data learning and microfluidics (intermediate olfactory model). We are particularly interested in the mechanisms that coordinate morphogenesis (form) and neurogenesis (identity) during the formation of this organ. My research is collaborative, inclusive and multidisciplinary. I am very involved in the development and sharing of an inclusive and multidisciplinary science. We disseminate and share our progress and our questions with the general public thanks to three associations: Femmes & Sciences, Les Chemins Buissonniers and Les Maths en Scène. I invite you to click on the dedicated link for more details. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information on research work, sharing with the public or schools as well as other associative activities.

RESEARCH TOPICS
Understanding organ formation mechanisms
Olfactory sensory organ formation
Morphogenesis & Cell lignage
Organ formation requires fine coordination between several processes to get the right number of cells positioned in the right place with the right shape to orient to the right identity and form a functional organ.
Using the zebrafish embryo, we combine live imaging and dedicated image analysis tools to understand the morphogenesis of the olfactory epithelium and cell lineages during olfactory organ formation.
We collaborate with Christian Rouvière (CBI image analysis platform).
Modelling Olfactory Organ Formation
In collaboration with Gaëlle Letort (Institut Pasteur, Paris), Violaine Roussier-Michon and David Sanchez (INSA, Toulouse), an agent-based model is used and developed to model olfactory morphogenesis.
